Exams and Consultations

Every person 12 months old and older should have someplace to call a "dental home;" we hope to be that place for you. If we are seeing you for the first time, we will take close-up photographs of your teeth with our intraoral camera, along with low radiation, digital X-rays. The photos give us the ability to show you exactly what we see and allow us to work together to craft the best plan for you. Once we have agreed on both the short and long term goals of treatment, we will work with your schedule to find the most convenient time to begin!

Cleanings

Each time you visit us for a cleaning, your appointment will be tailored to your specific desires and concerns. We will first complete a thorough head and neck exam along with an evaluation inside your mouth, ensuring that all soft and hard tissues are healthy. Periodontal measurements are taken to examine the health of your gums in relation to your teeth. Then the cleaning itself begins, which includes the removal of all plaque, calculus (sometimes referred to as "tartar"), and stain, as well as polishing and flossing. Following the examination and cleaning, specific instructions regarding oral hygiene care at home will be given to you in hopes of helping you improve upon any troublesome areas we find. At the end of the appointment, your dentist will come to ensure that you are healthy and good to go until our next meeting in 6 months time.

Whitening Tray.jpg

Tooth Whitening

At-home whitening involves custom-made trays and professional strength whitening gel for nighttime use. Impressions are made of your teeth, and we make your tray(s) right here in our office. You then deposit the gel into the tray each evening before going to sleep, place the tray over your teeth, and that's it! Not only will the surface stains on the outer layer of enamel disappear, but the inner layer of dentin (which often times is the real culprit for yellowing teeth) will be influenced to give off a lighter and whiter look.

Fillings

The materials and techniques we use to diagnose and treat caries (or "cavities," as they are known) allow us to operate with certainty of decay removal, while remaining minimally invasive. Our direct digital X-ray system used in conjunction with our chair-side technologies enable us to completely remove the disease from the tooth and restore it back to health.

CEREC.jpg

Single Visit Crowns and Veneers

Drs. Susan and David invested in this paradigm-shifting technology in 2008. 9 years, 3 hardware updates, and a mouthful of software updates later, single-visit crowns continue to be a patient favorite. No goopy impressions, no temporary crowns, and no second visit.
We use our state of the art CEREC system to digitally scan your teeth and gums. The design of your crown is done entirely on the CEREC software, and then sent to our in-house milling unit to be created. Once the crown has been made, we stain and glaze it to personalize the crown to match the rest of your teeth, and then fire it in our porcelain oven to achieve its final hardness and color. Your permanent crown will be on your tooth on the same day.

Sleep Medicine.jpg

Airway Management and Sleep Therapy

Do you snore? Do you wake up during the night? The position of your jaw and activity of your muscles contribute to the forces your teeth are subjected to while you sleep. We will send you home with our overnight Home Sleep Test equipment
which will measure the severity of your bruxism (grinding of your teeth), oxygen levels, pulse, and other critical data. When you return the next morning, all your recorded data will be downloaded to our computers for analysis. If needed, bruxism can be treated with an appliance.
If the data suggests any sleep disorders such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea, we can share your data with board-certified sleep physicians, neurologists, and/or pulmonologists that we routinely work with for further analysis. We can then create an appliance that will both protect your teeth and ensure a safe, quiet night's sleep.

BOTOX.jpg

Dental BOTOX Treatment:
Chronic Pain and Headache Management

While Botulinum Toxin A (Botox) is commonly associated with cosmetic treatments to smooth facial wrinkles, it is also valuable for therapeutic treatment of headaches and facial pain. Excessive teeth clenching and grinding can cause breakdown of the teeth and cause pain in the face, joints and head. Botulinum toxin is a manufactured injectable medication used to reduce the strength of targeted muscle tissues. We are licensed and certified to administer Botox both cosmetically and therapeutically.

Filler.jpg

Dermal Filler

A beautiful smile is not just properly contoured gums and gorgeous teeth. The lips and surrounding facial esthetics also play an important role. As we age there is a loss of collagen
from facial tissues. Lips get thin and “marionette lines” extending from the corner of the nose to the mouth and continuing toward the chin become more apparent. Fillers can be used to replace the lost collagen for a smoother and younger facial appearance. Fillers should be used to enhance the face and smile in a natural, age appropriate way. Patients love it because it looks so natural.… no one knows our little secret!

RCT.jpg

Root Canals

The pulp is the innermost layer of a tooth and contains nerve and blood supplies. When this area becomes irreversibly compromised, a "root canal" is performed by removing the infected pulp and replacing it with a therapeutic filling material (the orange material in the picture). This eliminates the discomfort that often accompanies a contaminated pulp, and allows the tooth to stay in your mouth and continue to be of use. We will do everything we can to help you keep all of your natural teeth- nothing beats it!

Extraction.jpg

Tooth Extraction

Hopefully we'll never have to visit this particular area of dentistry! But if a tooth has reached the end of its service, we will do our best to remove it with as little discomfort as possible. If advanced surgical techniques are indicated in order to ensure the best and safest outcome, we will refer you to one of our talented oral surgeons.

Implant.jpg

Dental Implants

Dental implants address areas of missing teeth. Whether it is one tooth or several, an implant and crown are the closest things to a true "tooth replacement" available today. Rather than relying on neighboring teeth to help fill a space like traditional "bridges" do, a dental implant doesn't involve other teeth at all. It is a free-standing, individual tooth replacement that is anchored in the bone of your jaw, just like your natural teeth. It can be brushed and flossed like a natural tooth (no more mouth gymnastics trying to thread floss underneath your bridge to clean it!), and allows you to chew and talk again on a sound, aesthetic "new tooth."

Denture.jpg

Partial and Complete Dentures

Removable partial dentures can be made when some but not all teeth are missing, while complete dentures can be made when all the teeth are missing. Replacing missing teeth is important for overall health because chewing your food is the first part of digestion. Teeth support your lips and cheeks giving attractive facial esthetics. Properly fitting removables give the ability to pronounce and speak words clearly. Both partial and complete dentures can be further supported and stabilized by placing dental implants in the bone and attaching the removables to the implants.

Minor Tooth Movement

Minor tooth movement simply means we can tip or rotate a single tooth or multiple teeth into a better position by using a custom removable appliance. We work with excellent orthodontists for comprehensive treatment, but brackets and wires are not always desired options. In those cases, we will work with you to determine if minor tooth movement would be an effective treatment solution. Minor tooth movement is not appropriate for every situation, and some results can only be achieved through traditional orthodontics. But if you are interested in aligning and straightening your teeth by either means, we are happy to meet with you and craft a plan that will best achieve the results you desire.
